We Came As Romans Announce “To Plant A Seed” 10th Year Anniversary Tour With The Devil Wears Prada, Gideon & Dayseeker

We Came As Romans have announced that they are heading out on tour to celebrate the 10th Year Anniversary of their album To Plant A Seed recently. Supporting them on this tour will be The Devil Wears Prada, Gideon, and Dayseeker.

We Came As Romans guitarist Joshua Moore commented:

We’re really excited to announce the 10-year anniversary tour for our first record ‘To Plant A Seed‘. Being able to watch our fans connect with us through music over the last decade has been an amazing privilege, and it all started with ‘To Plant A Seed‘. Way back in 2009 when we recorded it, we had no idea where it would take us or what we were really even doing, and it’s awesome to see that we can play these songs still, and feel that connection with you.

But over the course of 10 years, we’ve released four other albums and we’re even working on a fifth! With that being said, we are going to be throwing these songs into the vault of old WCAR — and retiring them from all future setlists after this tour. So make sure you grab your tickets and come hear these songs one last time live.

We Came As Romans Share Two New Songs

Detroit, Michigan metalcore band We Came As Romans have shared their two new songs recently. You can check out the songs “Carry The Weight” and “From The First Note” below.

Guitarist/vocalist Joshua Moore commented on the songs and the impact of the death of vocalist Kyle Pavone:

When Kyle passed away, it changed everything for us personally and, as a byproduct, everything for the band. An earth-shattering event puts a lot of things in perspective. We’ve spent so much time together. We’ve been doing this since we were kids. The one thing that won’t change is the way Kyle affected my life. Before we were bandmates, we were essentially brothers. In order to be genuine to our fans and ourselves, we had to write about what we dealt with losing him. At the same time, this isn’t just a bunch of songs soaking in depression. We want to celebrate what we built.

The band collectively commented on both songs:

‘Carry The Weight‘ is about dealing with the immense grief and sadness throughout navigating the loss of Kyle. It’s a very honest song, and we’re very open about how it felt continuing to play shows without him on stage with us. It’s about the darkest part of our grieving process, and the only way we see ourselves moving forward — through the memory and the ‘light’ that Kyle shone on our band.

It (‘From The First Note’) shows the other side of the loss of Kyle, remembering him and all the moments we shared, what we’ve created together, and how he will always be a part of us. That we can find his light in every aspect of the band, and feel thankful that we got to have that time of our lives with him. It’s a song about celebrating our accomplishments together, reliving the moments from our youngest days as a band, and knowing that he’s with us as we move forward.
